Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior
This 10-week program offers parents 10 interactive, 2.5-hour sessions on Zoom (in-person when available). Based on the award-winning Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior model, it helps parents of teens (11-18) manage challenges like truancy, substance use, runaway behavior, media influence, early sexual activity, violence, unhealthy peer relationships, and much more. Parent Project®, Sr. provides practical, evidence-informed solutions and concrete answers to tough parenting questions.
Parent Project®, Sr. helps parents:
Recognize the best methods of influencing and motivating difficult children to change
Create structure for children
Recognize trauma and its effect
Learn how to never argue with their children again
Identify the elements of active supervision
Get kids back in school and increase school performance
Respond to extreme situations (running away, violence, working with law enforcement, etc.)

2024 Program Statistics:
Retention Rate: In 2024, our program achieved an impressive 82% retention rate—parents who started our class stayed and completed it.
Effective Intervention for Drug and Alcohol Use: Before the class, 53% of parents indicated they would use the Six-Step Action Plan if they discovered their child was using substances. After completing the program, 84% said they would intervene using the plan—a 31% increase in confidence and readiness to act.
94% of parents reported learning “a lot” or “quite a bit” about using active supervision and structure in the home.
96% of parents reported learning “a lot” or “quite a bit” about the importance of communicating love and affection.
Application of Strategies & Tools: Prior to the class, only 15% of parents reported consistently applying the Parent Project® strategies and tools. After completing the program, 94% of parents reported regularly using these techniques.

Positive Strokes & Consequences: Prior to class, only 35% of parents reported using positive reinforcement. After completing the course, 94% of parents were using positive strokes and consequences for good behavior—an increase of 59%.
